What is a Chiropractor?
Chiropractors are 5 year university trained to diagnose and offer treatment for back pain and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. The treatment may include manipulation, massage or ergonomic advice. Chiropractors in Australia are a nationally registered and a regulated healthcare profession.
What do I need to bring?
Be prepared to provide your previous medical or surgical history. If you have them and if they are relevant bring recent x-rays, scan/MRI reports, and list of medication.
How many visits will I need?
The number of treatments will vary depending on the problem and individual. After a thorough assessment, our chiropractor will discuss their treatment plan with you. Our aim is to have you moving better, with less pain as quickly as we can, and with as few sessions as possible. We generally always begin adjusting in the initial consultation.
What should I wear to my appointment?
For Chiropractic, please wear loose, comfortable clothing (similar to what you might wear to the gym or on a walk). You will remove your shoes but all other clothing can stay on.
For Massage, you will be asked to undress down to your underwear, and you will be covered by towels for privacy and warmth.
Do I have to be referred by a doctor?
No, chiropractors can assess and treat without referral by a doctor. We do have great relationships with many local doctors and specialists and we are happy to provide a letter outlining your treatment plan.
Can I use my Health Fund?
Yes, we accept all health funds and have on the spot claiming facilities (so you just pay the gap). Please check directly with your health fund to see what benefits you can claim and what your rebate might be.
